Dirty Dancing!

Today I saw Dirty Dancing on stage.  The ticket was a grad gift from Mom and Dad and I had a great time.  My seat was third row centre; I could see everything all up close and personal.  I could even see their microphones stuck to their foreheads (which was hilarious, by the way).  During the final number, a bunch of women in the audience started to holler – like it was a concert.  Too funny!  Damn I love theatre.

Poor planning.

Tonight I was watching this show called ‘How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?’, which is a Toronto based reality show about casting the role of Maria in the stage show of ‘The Sound of Music’. For reality TV, it’s pretty good. Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber and his buds have been narrowing the field, and tonight the final ten women were to be picked, with the intention of having live performances and viewer voting on Sunday. Well, whoever planned the commercials for the show should be canned. The last commercial break before the ten were picked, there was a commercial for the Sunday episode, including pictures of the final ten. WTF? Totally ruined it.

What a pain.

I am loving the new house. I’m finally unpacked and it is starting to really feel like home. The move itself was kind of insane. Between our buyer’s lawyer being a total flake, and getting the keys at 6 pm, tempers were short and the moving lasted long into the night. Mom and Dad have sworn that they will never move again; I can’t blame them. While waiting for keys at the old house, we did get a quiet moment and something pretty special; there was a robin’s nest on the master bedroom’s window ledge and three little birds in the process of hatching.

Wow. That was really neat to see.

So, what’s the best thing about the new house?

Sweet!

Finished!

So, pregrad is over. I can’t believe how fast 3 months have gone by. In the beginning I felt useless and slow, but I finished feeling like a real nurse. The last day was bittersweet. One of my patient’s family members gave me a dozen roses, which was incredibly sweet. The card from all the nurses was really special. Their messages of encouragement and support meant a lot, and made me feel like I can really do this. So, up next: graduation in two weeks and the national exam in September. It’s going to be a long summer…

Aren\'t they pretty?
