Pop quiz.

What is the number one killer of women? Breast cancer? Nope, not even close – it’s actually heart disease. Heart disease is the number one cause of death in Canada for women over the age of 55. Women are more likely to die from heart disease than from any other disease. So few people know that, and I find it incredibly frustrating. I’ve heard more than a few commercials on the radio today, asking for funding for breast cancer research. But what about the silent killer that is the bigger risk? I’m fed up. February is heart month; read the literature, put away the pink trinkets and donate to an organization that is devoted to heart and stroke research. Help yourself ladies; this is incredibly important.
